HALIFAX, NS – July 26, 2010 – Scotian Carbon Services released its submission to the Department of Energy’s Renewable Electricity consultation process. The carbon management consulting firm is concerned about the government’s thrust to promote biomass combustion as part of its renewable electricity strategy.
The Scotian Carbon Services submission explains that most international protocols for greenhouse gas accounting dictate that emissions from biomass combustion is accounted for separately from all other greenhouse gas activities. There is a growing trend among jurisdictions in North America and Europe to exclude biomass from their renewable electricity totals.

Tuesday, 15 June 2010June 15th, 2010 Lake Echo, NS - Scotian WindFields Inc is pleased to announce the installation of its latest wind turbines in Lake Echo, Nova Scotia. Mountainview Estates, a manufactured home community owned by Killam Properties Inc., will enjoy the benefits of a 50kW Endurance wind turbine and a 6kW Scirocco wind turbine. The 50kw machine provides three phase power to the community’s water supply and waste water treatment facilities, while the single phase machine provides electricity to power the community’s street lights and Killam’s other electrical needs.

Wednesday, 03 February 2010Scotian WindFields Inc and Emera Inc have announced the signing of a Development Agreement for the 30MW Digby Neck Wind Project.

The Environmental Services Association of Nova Scotia (ESANS) is an observer organization that is accredited to attend the United Nations climate meetings in Denmark. Thursday, 14 May 2009DARTMOUTH, NS – May 14, 2009 - Scotian WindFields Inc announced today the installation of a 100kW wind turbine at the Atlantic Superstore in Porters Lake , its first commercial scale wind generator in Nova Scotia. The turbine will provide onsite renewable energy to Canada's largest grocery store chain, Loblaw Companies Limited (Loblaw), and will account for approximately 25 per cent of the store’s energy usage. With this project, Loblaw continues to take a leadership role in green innovation by entering into an agreement with Scotian WindFields to provide onsite renewable energy generation.
