We at Doctor Solar use our expertise to harness solar energy, in order to save you money and contribute to greening the planet. We use the sun to heat up to 75% of your home’s hot water.

Doctor Solar uses Thermo Dynamics Ltd. solar collectors. The systems are both designed and manufactured right here in Nova Scotia. In addition to being a local product, these panels are rated the most efficient design in the country by the Canadian Standards Agency (CSA).

With over 20 years of experience installing solar hot water systems, Doctor Solar is one of the most experienced installers in the province. We have been in partnership with Scotian WindFields Inc. since 2008.

Domestic Hot Water Systems

The majority of the Solar Thermal Systems installed by Scotian WindFields and Doctor Solar are for used for pre-heating Domestic Hot Water (DHW). In most residential homes, the Domestic Hot Water system consists of an electric hot water tank that heats municipal or well supplied water for use in your facets, showers and washing machines. Other hot water systems use hot water spacing heating systems like oil fired boilers to supply DWH as well.

Our systems use Solar Panels between your water supply (Municipal or well) and your existing hot water system to pre heat the water, which results in reduced usage of your existing system.
